Tim Wilks - Rider / trainer

Following an impressive run of success as a junior, including Team Bronze at the Junior European Championships, the 25-year-old Oxfordshire show jumper Tim Wilks’ international career stepped up a notch in 2016, since when he has represented Great Britain on Nations Cup Teams on five occasions and Canada once, after changing nationality in 2018.
He has a quiet style and feel, and meticulous, patient approach to producing young horses.
Tim established himself with an impressive career in ponies, juniors and young riders and continued to strengthen and develop his expertise - spending time training in the UK and in Belgium for four years with legendary trainer Henk Nooren.

As a senior rider, Wilks finished his Nations Cup debut with two double clears representing Great Britain in the CSI03* Nations Cup in Lisbon. A few weeks later he repeated his success with another double clear at the CSIO5* Nations Cup in Falsterbo. He finished 2016 with his first senior appearance at London’s iconic Olympia International Horse Show in December.

In 2018 Tim, having dual Canadian and British Nationality, followed his heart and changed the nationality of the country that he would represent in the future, and in May 2019 represented Canada at the Nations Cup in La Baule on the 9 year old Knockout Van’t Paradijs, despite being a huge step up for this young horse he was the best performing member of the Canadian team on both rounds.

As a result of his performance he was invited to jump at Spruce Meadows, Calgary 5* Summer Series for 5 weeks over the Summer, enabling two of up and coming IN Showjumpers horses to gain invaluable experience at one of the toughest showjumping circuits in the world.

During the past years Tim has developed his eye for spotting young horses for IN Showjumpers, that have the potential to be horses at the top of the sport and continues to be a valuable member of the team producing the younger horses with painstaking patience.  Tim also spends time training and sharing his knowledge and attention for detail with the other IN Showjumpers riders and team
